Make It Wild and In-site Property Solutions create new Sand Martin box in Yorkshire.

30th October 2024

York, North YorkshireMake It Wild, is excited to announce a transformative partnership with In-site Property Solutions. Together, they are working to create biodiverse habitats that support Make It Wild’s mission of restoring ecosystems and combating climate change.

In-site Property Solutions has generously sponsored the construction of a Sand Martin habitat at Skipbridge, one of Make It Wild’s key conservation sites. This new habitat supports the Sand Martin, one of Britain’s smallest and most agile birds, and strengthens the resilience of the local ecosystem.

The Sand Martin project is designed to reintroduce and bolster natural habitats impacted by urban expansion and agriculture. By supporting Make It Wild’s broader rewilding efforts, this initiative helps protect key species and supports the creation of habitats that sequester carbon, promote resilient ecosystems, and aid in the fight against global warming.

“Partnering with Make It Wild allows us to extend our impact beyond business and into the environment,” said Alex Boyle, Managing Director of In-site Property Solutions. “We place people, planet and profit on exactly the same level, so supporting a project like this allows us to continue contributing positively to our planet.”

As natural insectivores, Sand Martins play a crucial role in regulating insect populations. This helps to maintain a balanced and healthy ecosystem. Their presence, especially around water bodies where they nest, is hugely beneficial as Sand Martins feed on insects that might otherwise proliferate. This ensures a healthier environment for both aquatic and terrestrial life.

“Businesses like In-site Property Solutions are indispensable allies in our mission,” said Christopher Neave, co-founder of Make It Wild. “Their support enables us to expand our rewilding efforts and create biodiverse woodlands for future generations.”

Make It Wild continues to drive innovation in conservation, working with forward-thinking businesses to enhance biodiversity and promote sustainable practices across the UK.
