Just across the Nidd valley from Bank Woods are our young woodlands on Dacre Lane, which total just over 5 acres. Here we have completed our woodland creation, with the final trees planted in February 2022. There are clearings where we have sown wildflower seeds, and created wildlife ponds, all to support biodiversity. You can make a pond dedication for the newly dug ponds here, or a dedicate a Living Wildflower Bouquet .
This is the location for a woodland sponsored and planted by Jamyang Buddhist Centre Leeds. The trees were planted during the winters of 2020/21 and 2021/22. You can still contribute to this initiative here. Future phases of trees will be planted at Skipbridge.
Also on this site, we have planted a small woodland for The Every One Club, an action group to support people to make changes needed to address climate change.
Both of these exciting projects were featured in the Yorkshire Post.
We were also delighted to be asked to plant and dedicate a small copse especially for our neighbours in Dacre – they can watch the trees grow from their window!
We also have a number of other exciting corporate sponsorships and dedicated woodlands at this location.
One section of the woodland is available for Carbon Offsetting by individuals and businesses.
To learn more about the site, its wildlife and our work, you can view the location on Restor here.
You can view the changes over time at Dacre Woodlands below.
