You might have connections to Yorkshire, and would like to give new life to a tree in beautiful Nidderdale.
Your plot can be next to a loved one, so that your memorial trees will live on together.
Memorial Tree in Yorkshire
When the time comes, your cremation ashes will be used to plant a young tree in our special new Memorial Woodland in gorgeous Nidderdale. Your memorial tree in Yorkshire will grow and flourish, for decades to come. It’s a wonderful way to give back to the earth, to support a new life, and to enhance nature and the environment.
Our memorial trees are around 1.5 – 2 metres tall when they are planted. We will make sure they have the necessary protection from rabbits and deer, to grow strong, and support nature and biodiversity for many years to come.
Working with our partners at Life Tree UK, we will ensure that your Memorial Tree grows strong and healthy. Using a specially formulated planting mix*, the ashes will be incorporated into the compost for planting your tree.
Make it Wild are very experienced at tree planting and successful woodland creation. Our first 18,000 trees, planted in 2011, are now a wonderful woodland, Sylvan Nature Reserve. We have more recently created new woodlands at Bank Woods, Dowgill Grange, Dacre Lane and Windmill Hill. To date we have planted more than 60,000 trees in North Yorkshire. We also protect ancient woodland, dig ponds, and restore wild flower meadows.
How do I Reserve a Plot for a Memorial Tree?
You have two payment options to choose from:
One payment: £420
You can reserve your plot simply by choosing ‘One Payment’ and clicking ‘add to basket’ above.
We will send you a certificate, by email, confirming your purchase.
If you would like to make any special requests, please let us know in the ‘Notes’ section. These might include
- for your plot to be adjacent to that of a loved one
- your preferred species of tree
On completion of your order, you will receive an order confirmation. Please make a note of the order number, and make sure your family know about this. If you have a funeral plan, please make sure your funeral director knows about this too.
When it is time for your memorial tree to be planted with your ashes, your family should contact us to make the necessary arrangements, as described here. They will get £420 discount off the prevailing price for our Memorial Trees at the time.
Pay by Instalments: £18 each month for 24 months: total £432
When you choose ‘Instalments’ and click ‘add to basket’ above, you will be asked to pay the first £18 instalment. You then need to download a document, which will contain a link to enable you to set up the instalment plan with GoCardless who manage this scheme for us. Then 23 further monthly payments of £18 will be taken from your bank account by Direct Debit, to a total of £432.
Once you have set up the instalment plan, we will mark the plot as reserved.

If you pass away before the end of the 2 year plan, we will discount the Memorial Tree by the amount you have paid.
Please note, if you cease payments before the end of the two year plan, we will use the funds you have paid to dedicate another of our nature dedications in your name.
