Helen is an experienced and engaging public speaker for groups and clubs.

She has given many talks ‘in person’ and during the pandemic became a frequent ‘zoom’ presenter.

Helen has four presentations for you to choose from:

Scalpel to Spade and Beyond – which tells the story of her remarkable career, from being one of very few female trainee surgeons, to becoming a consultant, and then holding national roles with healthcare regulators. Helen and Chris then realised Nature was in trouble … Helen will explain what they do and why.

Encouraging Nature into Your Garden – Helen will guide your group through ten simple actions, that members of your group can take, to help Nature.

How we “Make it Wild” – A personal story of rewilding of the land. Helen will talk about the many lessons learnt – from large herbivores to wild flowers and tree planting and everything in between.

Why Nature helps our Health – Helen will explain, in simple terms, some of the science behind the health benefits of being in Nature.

Each talk lasts around 50 minutes, and Helen is happy to take questions.

The speaker fee goes directly to support Make it Wild’s woodlands and nature reserves. We offer reductions for charities and community groups.
