Our natural loofah scrubber are a fantastic plastic-free swap.
Every time you use a plastic sponge, scourer or washing up brush to wash the pots or clean your bathroom it sheds microplastics. Your body sponge in the bath or shower will do the same. These pollutants find their way into our oceans where they are often too small to be seen. Marine creatures can’t help ingesting these. Seals, whales, dolphins, birds, and many other sea creatures are becoming sick and dying because of this deadly pollution. It even finds its way into fish that we eat.
That’s why Make it Wild are pleased to offer this easy, effective and attractive alternative.
We produce them in Yorkshire from luffa gourds grown in China. They come with a hanging loop made from cotton tape.
These loofah scrubbers are hard when dry, and they soften when wet. They are gentle enough not to scratch delicate items, but abrasive enough to remove cooked on food, or marks around taps in the kitchen or bathroom.
You can use them for washing up or cleaning the bathroom. They are even great to use for gentle exfoliation of your skin the shower.
They last around three months depending on usage.
When your natural loofah scrubber needs to be disposed of, you can simply pop it on the compost heap. The whole thing, hanging tape included, will safely break down and return to the earth.
