Bamboo cotton buds have so many uses! They are indispensable for touching up make up or nail varnish. You might use them to clean piercings and jewellery. They are vital to have in your baby changing bag, for cleaning in between baby’s tiny toes. You might use them to clean your computer key board, headphones or other intricate devices. Many people use them to clean their ears, although we wouldn’t advise that. (As a consultant Ear Nose and Throat surgeon, Helen, our founder, saw the damage they can cause if not used carefully!)
But … there is a huge problem with conventional cotton buds with plastic stems. Their size and shape mean they can easily pass through sewage filtration systems. This means they find their way to the sea, where they litter our beaches and endanger marine life.
Our cotton bamboo buds offer a solution if you can’t do without cotton buds, but you don’t want to contribute to ocean pollution. They are made of organic bamboo. This means they can be safely popped on the compost heap where they will safely biodegrade back to the earth.
Bamboo is extremely sustainable, growing up to a metre per day, without the use of chemicals, You can read more here.
